OBESITY SURGERY
It is the increase of the body mass index of the individual above the 85th percentile, bringing many risks with it.
In simple terms, it is excessive fat accumulation in the body. Average body weight is between 15-20% in men and 25-30% in women. Since it is not easy to determine the body fat percentage, obesity is defined as excess weight rather than excess fat.
WHO defines overweight and obesity based on body mass index [BMI = Weight (kg) / Height (m2)]. Today, avalanche-growing obesity, together with the diseases it causes, has the most important place in health expenditures. In this respect, prevention as well as treatment of obesity is even more important.
